Pilgrimage of Loathing

coldblackmoon Still continuing to be one of my favorite bands in NC. Getting darker.. still maintaining their hypnotic, signature sound... this is amazing! Favorite track: The Somnambulist.

Matt A I admit bias here, as these guys are local for me, and Spencer is a hell of a guy. That being said, don't "Sleep" on this band (see what I did there?), this is burly, heavy sludge that keeps a rock n' roll base as the best extreme metal bands do (the Stooges cover is quite apropos). Watching these guys mystify old people at the North Carolina State Fair was a surreal and wonderful experience, and they are warriors for right-on politics here in the annoyingly slow to catch on American South.

JC I’m not tooting my own horn here but I’m a doom/sludge connoisseur and this album is cover to cover flawless. Let me tell you how good this is: I ordered an LP copy but I accidentally scratched it like an idiot so I immediately ordered another copy. THATS how good it is. I hope Make keeps releasing more music as they create absolutely top tier stuff. Also, the record shipped with a “punch nazis” sticker so, ya know, LEGENDS. Favorite track: Two Hawks Fucking.
